WEEK 1,Ancient Olympics

In the ancient times when the olympics first began only people who spoke greek could compete in the games.They always held the games in Olympia rather than holding them all around the world.They had many different games including:Boxing, Equestrian events, Chariot racing, Riding, Pankration, Pentathalon, Discus, Javelin, Jump, Running and Wrestling.As I was saying the first olympic games according to Diodorus were held in (mid-summer)776BC.Also the men that competed in the games had to be naked to compete.How Bizzare!!!!!!The prizes that they recieved were olive wreaths,palm branches and woollen ribbons and women were forbidden to
enter until 1900 in Paris.
